Cordova Elementary students participate in the Read-A-Thon.

Blue Ribbon PROUD!

Cordova Elementary was named an Exemplary High Performing School through the program for being among the state's "highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. 

A Devilishly Good Garden!

Cordova Elementary students got to work planting this season's vegetable garden.  The produce grown will be donated to members of the community.

Walker County School Board Chairman Brad Ingle and AASB President, presided over the State Summer Conference in Gulf Shores.

Chairman of the Board, Brad Ingle, presided over the AASB sessions at MEGA in Mobile, sharing Walker county's educational success stories.

Dr. Guin and Dr. Willingham shared Walker County’s strategic planning/ESSR funding process to Alabama school districts at the Mega Conference.
Bankhead was recognized as one of Alabama's outstanding middle schools for their achievements in the A+ College Ready program!
ADECA Grant For Bankhead STEM

A $1 million grant announced by Gov. Kay Ivey from the Appalachian Regional Commission will enable the Walker County Board of Education to construct a facility at Bankhead Middle School in Cordova that specializes in helping their students hone their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
